1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
FocusFlight does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use the app. The only personal information we may collect is if you contact us via email at support@focusflight.net, in which case we retain your email address and message content to respond to your inquiry.
Information Stored Locally
FocusFlight stores the following data in your browser's localStorage — this data never leaves your device:
- Your chosen home airport code
- Your session completion count and unlock progress
- Your audio preferences (volume settings)
- Your theme preference
- Cookie consent choice
- Whether you have completed the onboarding flow
You can clear all locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for focusflight.net.
Geolocation (Optional, Consent-Based)
FocusFlight can suggest your closest real airport as a starting point. To do that, the app may ask your browser for your approximate location via the standard Geolocation API.
- Activation is opt-in. The browser permission prompt appears only after you press the "Detect Nearest Airport" button. If you press "Pick from a list" instead, no geolocation request is made.
- Lawful basis (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)): your explicit consent given through the browser's permission dialog.
- Data flow: your coordinates are processed entirely in your browser. They are matched against a static airport list bundled with the app. Your coordinates are never transmitted to FocusFlight servers, third-party advertisers, or analytics providers.
- Storage: your coordinates are not stored. Only the airport code you confirm (e.g., "PEK") is saved in your browser's localStorage.
- Withdrawing permission: open your browser's site settings for focusflight.net and revoke the location permission at any time. The app will keep working — you will simply pick airports from the list manually.
Automatically Collected Information
When you visit FocusFlight, certain information is automatically collected by third-party services we use:
- IP address (processed by Cloudflare and Google)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Referring URL
- Pages visited and time spent
2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
FocusFlight itself does not set first-party cookies. However, our third-party service providers use cookies and similar tracking technologies:

We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site and other sites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. Cloudflare Web Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-focused: it does not use cookies or fingerprinting, and does not track individual users across sites. Data is aggregated and anonymized. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Service Worker and Offline Caching
FocusFlight uses a service worker to enable offline functionality. The service worker caches static assets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, audio) locally on your device. This is not used for tracking — it is purely for performance and offline support.
3. How We Use Information
The information collected (primarily through third-party tools) is used to:
- Display relevant advertisements to support the free service
- Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the app
- Respond to support inquiries
- Ensure the technical security and performance of the site
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for any purpose other than those described in this policy.
4. Third-Party Advertising
FocusFlight participates in the Google AdSense program. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site. Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.

All app preferences stored in localStorage can be deleted by clearing your browser's storage for focusflight.net via your browser's developer tools or privacy settings.
Cookie Preferences and Consent Mode
FocusFlight uses Google Consent Mode v2 to honor your cookie preference. Until you make a choice in the consent banner, all advertising and personalization signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, analytics_storage) default to denied.
- If you choose Accept, those signals are updated to granted, and Google may serve personalized ads based on cookies.
- If you choose Decline or close the banner without choosing, the signals stay denied. Google AdSense may still serve non-personalized ads (these do not require cookie consent under the EU rules) so the site can remain free.
- You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for this site (the banner will reappear) or by adjusting consent in your browser's site settings.

FocusFlight does not store personal data on its own servers. All app preferences are stored locally in your browser. Data retained by third-party service providers (Google AdSense, Cloudflare) is subject to their respective retention policies — see their links above.

FocusFlight is not directed at children under 13 years of age (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
